Since winning the Rivers Foundation Explorer Award for Health & Humanities 2015 and leading the Aberdeen Guyana expedition, I have graduated medicine and am now a doctor in the highlands of Scotland. Having the research experience of the expedition behind me, I was successful in applying for the Academic Foundation Programme specialising in teaching. I am pursuing my ambition of becoming an expedition medic and researcher and have recently completed the first part of the Diploma in Expedition and Wilderness Medicine.

SES is an incredible organisation and without their help, support and backing, none of this would have been possible.
