We are delighted to share Driven to Extremes, a not for profit organisation that Mac Mackenney (who kindly gave a brilliant SES Explorer Talk - 'Driven to Extremes' to SES members and friends in July 2018), set-up to help the recovery of military veterans suffering from PTSD by taking them on challenging vehicle adventures. Its aim is to not only help veterans, but provide a source of employment for them in an adventurous team-based environment, be that full, part time or freelance. You can see films from two of their recent adventures - Morocco and Shetlands.

To mark the 75th anniversary of the British Army saving Volkswagen from collapse following World War 2, in March 2020 Driven to Extremes will be running a Sahara Bug Rally fundraising adventure in which members of the public can join us as they attempt to drive the original Dakar Rally route through Morocco in VW Beetles!

Veterans from previous adventure trips will act in a support crew capacity, thus further aiding their recovery.

For full details, please see Sahara Bug Rally.
