SES announces new Chairman

The SES is delighted to announce that the explorer and businessman Neil Laughton has been formally and unanimously voted onto the Board of the SES as Chairman. Neil succeeds Andrew Mitchell, who has been involved with the Society for over 30 years (25 years as a Council Member and the last 5 years as Chairman). The SES is tremendously grateful to Andrew for everything he has done for the Society and we are thrilled that he will continue to play an active part in the Explorer Awards.

Neil brings the SES a wealth of knowledge and experience and we are extremely excited about the future of the Society under his leadership.

Neil is pictured here at the launch of his SkyCar expedition (a 2009 project to fly and drive the world’s first road-legal flying car from London to Timbuktu) at the SES's London home, the Park Tower Hotel (Knightsbridge).
