Championed Expedition - The Plastic Tide

The SES has wanted to develop a means of giving ‘non-financial support’ to those leading expeditions which meet the SES objectives and is delighted to have taken on Peter Kohler's - The Plastic Tide as its first Championed Expedition.

The Plastic Tide expedition is looking to harness cutting edge drone and algorithm technology to create an open source map of the plastic pollution problem, in the UK and beyond.

On Saturday 1 April, Peter Kohler and his EXPEDITION TEAM will scientifically detect, measure and monitor litter over 5,000km of the UK's coastline using drones. Findings will be FREE and will be made available to the public and also to help educate and assist local communities in beach cleans.

The Plastic Tide have been interviewed by Sky News and BBC World Service - please CLICK HERE to listen to the interview.

For more information on The Plastic Tide, please CLICK HERE and we wish Peter and his team every success in fighting the rising tide of plastics around the world.
