Fearghal O'Nuallain to lead SES@GauchoCity in 201830th Jan 2018 Duration: 23 hours 59 minutes
The SES is delighted to announce that Fearghal O’Nuallain will be leading the SES@GauchoCity in 2018 by giving a talk on Tuesday 30 January 2018 at the Gaucho (City), London. These events are kindly hosted by Gaucho City and supported by Cadogan Tate, for which the SES is extremely grateful.
Fearghal is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and he has spent over a decade travelling adventurously. He was one half of the first Irish team to circumnavigate the globe by bicycle & walked across Rwanda for his MSc thesis in Environment & Development from Trinity College, and hitched, hiked, and biked across the Balkan peninsula in search of the Via Egnatia. A Geography teacher, has made the world his classroom and is using adventure and tech to engage students with the world.
Fearghal's current project is called The Water Diaries; 5 adventurous journeys that explore the complex story of water, how it shaped the landscape, influenced the rise and fall of civilisations, and shapes geo-politics today. A source to sea descent of the Indus river is the third journey in the series and will see Fearghal travel 3,000km from its source in Tibet, through the Himalaya in Kashmir & Northern Pakistan, and across the plains of Southern Pakistan to the Arabian Sea. Travelling by foot Fearghal will shine a light on the most interesting river in the world.
